When i drag race ive been startin in 2nd, cuz i dont have a wheelie bar yet so i cant start in 1st, but is startin in 2nd hard on the clutch basket? How can i tell when i need to replace it?

drian your oil, take your clutch cover, and clutch plates off, then look at the fingers on the basket, if it has any grooves then you need to change it, also look at the fiber plates and make sure they arent glazed. most likley if you do have a clutch problem you can tell just cause the whole quad rides chitty

no, starting in second shouldnt harm anything at all, i have been doing it for over 5 years now with 3 different quads, and no problems, just better starts:)
just make sure you revv alot higher than you think you need, cause while letting out the clutch you think you will have enough rpm, but as soon as it catches on, it rapidly drops
