Id like to get a set of 4-1 offset front wheels, but looking at my front end I cant see how the rim would clear the heimjoint. Its pretty close with 3-2 offset. Anyone have trouble fitting 4-1 wheels on their quads? Id really like to use them to be alittle narrower in the woods and then use 3-2s for MX.....thanks for any insight

what kind of quad and a-arms do you have?

this is a 250r. I was noticing the closeness on my bros with ASR arms. The stock arms I have now look like they would work, but I am getting Roll arms soon and am not sure about them.

i am positive 4-1 wheels will work on an R with roll a-arms

here is offset. the first number is how deep the inside of the wheel is, the second number is how deep the outside is.
stock honda wheels are 3.5 inches deep on the inside, 1.5 inches deep on the outside. going deeper on the inside makes the quad narrower. going shallower on the inside makes the quad wider.
so for a honda-
3.5-1.5= stock width wheels
3-2= one inch wider than stock wheels total
4-1= one inch narrower than stock total

You mean "one inch narrower than stock total", correct? ;)

Actually, the stock Honda rims are a 5.5 inch width rim. They're pretty close to 4+1.5 offset(I made a lot of calls when I was checking for my new rims and Douglas, ITP, Nacs, just about any place you talk to will tell you the same thing as far as the offset on the stock Honda DID rims). The thing about the stock rims though, is that the lip makes them just a little more than 1.5 from the centerline. I tried some ITP 4+1's on to get some measurements, and they made the front end between 1 and 1.5 narrower overall.

I forgot to add this is with ITP Baja wheels, so they have that mini reenforcing ring inside that makes it aittle tighter...

I gots me a set of 4-1 Hipers up front and they clear my balljoints by a C-hair. I got the feelin' that your not going to get your answer until you actually bolt up a 4-1 rim. 4-1 offset is the only way to go if your running a long travel front end. They help tame da bumpsteer.
