How do you know when you have to adjust your valves on a 400ex. An how long would it take to adjust them?

it dosnt take too long providing you are mechanically inclined. your best bet is to get a clymer manual or do a search on here, it has been posted before. good luck.

well maybe its not the valves because it seems to start to make the ticking nosie after its been running a while. Or im just getting paranoid I dont know any help would be great.

it could possibly be a stretched timing chain or a bad timing chain tensioner.

the ticking noise is normal, i put a hot cam in mine and it got louder, don't sweat it, nothing is wrong.

it seems to do it more after ive road it for a while thats still normal?

the ticking noise is normal when it has been running for a while. if it is loud and does it ALL the time then u hav a problem

i guess it depends on how loud the tick is.
