SSD and rebound

I race motocross and I am going to get some longtravel a-arms and I was wandering if I should get SSD? Would I need that for motocross? And would I need rebound? If so why?

SSD is great for all types of riding. It lowers the center of gravity and makes the quad handle much better. You are probably going to want the rebound also to adjust for different tracks/conditions. Get the best shock you can afford and you should be much happier.
