i am currently running a sparks timing key with my 416, but even with an aftermarket oil cooler and 11:1 piston in a 440 will heat still be a problem. if so are progamable cdi's that mess with your timing also a bad idea on a 440?

i ran it with a 426 and a 13:1 piton with no problems. a 426 would run hotter than the 440. it should be fine.

Sparks recommends to use his key on a STOCK engine only! Whether you choose to listen to him or not is entirely up to you.
