I recently bought my wife a 250ex whick she loves except for the suspension whick beats her to death. Could I use the stock front and rear shocks from a 300ex? Since she doesn't ride that often puttting out the money for a works shock is out of the qeustion. If anyone knows of any other shocks that will work please let me know.

you can rig ones up but it doesnt work good at all...the 250's suspension sucks and thats one reason i upped to a 300...not sure the 300's will fit but its not worth the hassle IMO

the 300ex front shocks are the same as a 250ex, there would be no point to upgrade to them. it would be a good upgrade fo rthe rear shock if you wanted to do that.

Thanks for the replies. I tried to swap the fronts but the mounts are different sizes.

Rebel, the 250 has no adjustment whatsoever, so they are not even close to being the same shock that is on the 300.

I know someone out there has a "trick". Hook me up people. :)

diamondjcustoms on ebay makes a new shock bracket that allows you to mount 400ex shocks...if she isnt a serious jumper i dont think youll have any issues with "shock geometry" or any of that

wrong - they are not the same...

all you guys got it bass akwards. your suggesting setups that stiffen it up and increase travle, when a softer smoother ride is wanted which would make it the opposite of what he wants.

the only thing you can do is buy some works ($300) and have them set up for her :)

I'm saying there is no point to do it because they both have like the same travel in the front shocks

If you dont want to spend the money on the works shocks then dont bother wasting your time with anything else and try to let her down easy that shes gonna have to live with the stockers:ermm:
