View Full Version : Which axle lock nut?

I have decided to go with an RPM Dominator axle for my '03 Raptor, but I don't know which lock nut I should get.

What do you guys recommend out of these lock nuts?

RPM Pro-Loc
Lonestar w/dual pinch bolts
RAD (I think this only has a single pinch bolt, but I could be wrong.)

I would think that the RPM nut would work best on their axle, but I am not familiar with its design. I run a RAD lock nut on my 400ex and it seems to work well.

Any suggestions, opinions, etc. are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jordan

Get the RAD, does the same job as the others for a cheaper price. And BTW, I have one and it does indeed have two pinch bolts (at least the newer designed ones do). My axle's been tight forever and the nut hasn't backed off a bit  :)

I am running a RAD on my 400...and it OK. I always have to re-tighten it no matter how much I clamp it down, it always seems to come loose again. Not really sure if this is normal or if all aftermarkets do this. The price wasn't that bad tho...

i have heard good things about the baldwin, but it is more expensive too. i have heard complaints with the lsr one coming loose. this one is probably lighter because it has some aluminum.
