yea trade to a 250ex because thats the only way a shaft driven 250 will be faster... the z250 isent torqy like the ex... so its not gonna accelerate faster... maybe put some smaller rear tires on it to make it gain a lil acceleration

huh? the shaft drive was meant to be rider friendly andf not for speed...both z and ex 250s are for a very undemanding rider...

a z 250 is alot faster and better machine than a 250ex. a z has all kinds of torque .

only way you can make a shaft driven quad faster is bigger rear tires. but once u do that i doubt the little 250 will have enough poop to pull it around. the z250 is an entry level quad. its not ment to be ridden like a big bore or go 60 mph.

Haha, but they sure are found to screw around with out on the trail. It's a really fun lil quad, just not a competition one. I consider it a sporty utility quad, and ironically, that's what it is!:D

there both beginner bikes not made to race just to ride and have fun with your best bet is gearing . slip on pipe , filter bigger carb and maybee cam if they make them for your quad

sorry to say, but a blaster is more aimed at a 300ex. blasters completly blow a 250ex and a z250 out of the water.

You are the only one that really seems to care. There is a number of ways I could beat a blaster. I can beat it in reverse, I can beat it if the guy on the blaster does not know how to drive a clutch, I can beat it in a pulling contest. In a flat out drag, the blaster will not beat the 250ex by as much as you think. It's pretty even until the 250 tops out, then the blaster will just walk away because it has a higher top speed. I know the blaster is faster, but not by much. Anyways, you are the one who changed the subject, all I said is that you should not say incorrect imformation, the 250ex will beat the z250.

As for the original question, I don't think there is anything you can do to the shaft, unless you want to spend a lot of money. I would just get an air filter and a full exhaust system. And make sure you rejet. I just have the air filter on mine and it makes the throttle response a lot better. I would recommend k&n. Don't listen to anyone that says they let dirt through. I have had mine for almost 3 years and every time I look into the carb, there is no dirt whatsoever. And I ride in a lot of dusty conditions. You just can't be lazy on cleaning the filter.

emm not quite my friend lol, u cant beat me in reverse cause by the time u would have got the ex shifted in reverse i would have the blasty spun around and away  and ur 250ex vs blaster in a tug of war? emm i think you would be comming my way .

and if im not wrong i got this from dirtwheels

The 250ex does around 50 ish and the new suzuki quadsport does 56mph but weighs 17 pounds heavier than the 250ex or something

Actually a 250ex could get in reverse faster than a blaster can whip around any day. I can get mine in reverse in like a half second.

on a blaster, all u have to do is have it in first or second and drop the clutch. the wheel spin alone will turn the bike around if your moving a little bit..

its amazing what you guys will fight about
