have a quick question here, when me and my friend got our 400ex, brand new 05's. they basically ran head to head, i got mine one week before his, now his blows mine away by 3 bikes, no matter who rides who's bike, i had a k&n i put in when it satrted, since thn i switch back to the stock and still the same, i just added a revbox no diff, other then that there both performnace stock, this weak im adding a jet kit, wb e series.. but my question before i add is why the hell am i getting smoked?? i know its kinda a random question just ask some questions if u need more info thnx..

did u rejet for the K&N? can you beat him if he rides your quad and your on his?

like posted it doesnt matter who is on who's quad, mine losses and his pulls on mine bad.. and no i did not rejet for the k&n. but also i oput the stock one back in and same thing.. does the same with both..

wow, thats strange? maybe try a compression check on yours. does it smoke or anything? im actually pretty stumped.

no smoke at all, hard to keep started like all 400's though thats it

open your carb up, take off the breather and look in it. make sure you are getting full throttle. your cable may have stretched. adjust it by the handle bar thumb throttle.

do you think the throttle cable could have gotten messed up?? i just replcaed the bars and had all that **** off, could just taking it off and putting it back on do it, it sounds logical??

it is possible that there is less tension due to different size bars, but i ask that mainly because of normal stretch of the cable. if you are always wide open the cable will stretch on its own. mine did it while at little sahara and i was shocked how much throttle i had lost when i figured it out.

if u did not rejet for the k&n, you might wanna try taking the airbox lid off.
