This Winter I want to mods my 400

I have already : Uni Filter,White brother Slip on,Jet Pilot 42 and soon open box.

What I have thinking about the mods I want

416 Wiseco Piston 11:1
Splash N Dirt Cam
Rockers HD
Springs HD
Studs HD
CRF timing chain
Cometic Gasket

I want to run it at 91 octane

But do you think that I will have some problems?? like overheat?Do you think that I will have a reliable engine?

sounds like you will have a nice motor. if the Splash N Dirt Cam is a hard welded cam, deffiantly get hardend rockers. if it says drop in cam, then dont worry bout it. dont get the weisco piston. there compression ratios are innacurate since they are from the xr400 motor. the motors are close but not exact. go with a je or ross piston. also get a full exhuast. i will wake up the quad much more than a slip-on will with motor mods.

I have a JE 416 with a cam, it's a great combination...you can't imagine the difference from your stock motor. I highly suggest doing it, you'll love the bike afterwards and if it's done right you'll be able to beat stock 450s...I can.

I have a JE 406cc kit, I havent raced any stock 450's yet but one of my freinds that owns one rode my quad and told me it will bag his 450r!!

Definitly go with the JE piston over the Wiseco. As far as the exhaust i too would go with a full system but since you just bought a slip as did i in the begining buy a FMF Hi-Flo header this will work with your white brothers and with my big gun it runs awesome. Also if you get with C&D they can get you some thinner gaskets that will bump the compression up a lil bit and from what i have told as long as your below 12:1 you can run pump gas. If your worry about over heating get some RTC scoops they are alot more affective than the others and look good too. I have never heard of that cam maybee look into a hot cam. good luck.

whats so bad about wiseco? Even if they do base there pistons off the xr engine the compression ratio will go down to 10.8:1 (instead of 11:1) if your using the ex gaskets and can be easily fixed by putting on the xr head gasket. right?

replace your cdi with a stock xr250r cdi it improves it will give you 800 rpm on top and a faster ignition curve

The Splash N Dirt Cam is a cam that other riders (from here) recommend to me,its proven on the dyno that this cam produce better than a Hotcam.
