yes i have done a search on this subject i do 1 once a mounth to find the answer
i worrk in a car dealership and we use mobil 1 0/40w fully synth gold cap oil which i can get by the box load i have looked on numrous times on the bottles if it has friction modifiers but unable to find anything the only thing i can find is super-synth anti wear could i run this in a 400ex or will it ruin my clutch.

Just use a motorcycle oil... Bel ray or something specifically designed for bikes with shared clutch/crank oil. That's your best bet.

What you need to stay away from is any oil that says:
"Energy Conserving" on the back of the bottle. These oils contain friction modifiers that are harmful to a motorcycle's wet clutch system. Look on the back of the NEW Mobil One stuff and you will see that it does contain friction modifiers.

A good alternative that is an excellent synthetic oil is Shell Rotella - T Full Synthetic 5w40. It is safe for motorcycle engines and can be bought off the shelf at Walmart for about 13 bucks a gallon ;)
