Check out what you can do!

A little Prestone Heavy duty brake cleaner and wa la, away goes the black! I think it looks pretty sick.

Ask me if you want to know a little more about how to do it!

haha, hell yeah, the acetone will eat right thru it, u just mask off the paint section. It takes a pretty high concentration to mess with the paint, i some times spraysome on a rag and wipe it on my truck to get certain things off of it like tar!

Been there done that! Did my tailgate emblem like 2 years ago, took it off and mounted on my passenger side dash, wish I had pics though it looks pretty sick. Good cheap mod if you ask me :macho Only works on the 99' and up trucks, the pre 99's came with the black paint that was baked on and therefore cannot be acetoned or brake cleaned off.

I did that on my excursion. I used acitone from the can with paper towels and Q tips. You have to mask it off for sure. I heard if you use brake clean you emblems may also fall off because it eats the adheasive(SP). If you take a hair dryer to the ford logos you can peel the blue off. All your left with is a chrome ford logo. I did that also, you have to take acitone to that also when finished to clean it up. Ill try to post pics later.

I understand that certain Ford emblems can be boiled to "chrome them out" but it only works on certain years and models. You can buy colored decal overlays if you search on yahoo which works pretty well for not much cash. Try searching at www.ftw.truckmoxie.com for more info if you don't already know about the site. It's like the ATVriders for Ford enthusiasts; absolutely indisposable info there! ;)

Just heat the emblems up with a hair dryer and peel away. Try to get it hot first. The rubber will pull in one piece easier. Use something soft like your finger nail if possible or you will scrath the plastic. I started with pocket knife just to get the edge up, then my nails.

I dont know if all years come off. If its the rubber like one, it will come off. You just pull off the rubber and the blue comes with it.

Just Heat it up with a hair dryer for...5 minutes or so so it gets really hot, and take a razor blade and get under the edge of the rubber, and once you have a good section off, peel the rest w/ your fingers.
