yea they are quite expensive...i dont think they are worth it unless u run an aftermarket sub frame w/o the battery mount or modify your stock subframe with a new down tube....because it looks really tacky with the battery mounts there...and nothin else

I don't remember the brand of my aluminum airbox with the battery relocation, but they are on ebay with an american flag in the background. Without a lid like $75 and with a lid around $100. Also if you go that route, cut the battery mount tabs off your subframe and grind it smooth before you get it powdercoated, when u get it back it looks sweet ( mine did ) :D

You should try and make one - I made a custom battery box out of diamond plate for my old 400EX that looked really nice. You should try and make one out of that, it would be sweet. And its fun when somebody asks where did you get that and you can say I made it myself :D

I know he said something about making me one out of plexy glass, but I like the Diamond plating idea!

I really like the plexiglass idea too, I think I'm going to try and make one for my 250R out of that. It would be really sweet having a clear airbox. But yeah, the Diamonette looks really cool for that kind of stuff, but you'll have to keep it clean or else it looks like garbage.

Hs got good ideas, I cant wait until he decides to make his invetion for jetting, all I can say is you can jet it in place,w/o leaving your garage... :D

I was interested in getting one until i saw the prices on some of them.:eek2: I also have a buddy who races mx on ex's both flat track and mx who says he highly does NOT reccomend the aluminum air boxes that relocate the battery. I have seen alot of cracked airboxes and tabs. So i guess ill either make my own, or just go safe with stock.:D

CORRECTION..... I now have to do the Grab bar mod too...!!! :( the Subframe I thought was for a Hyrbid 450, it only kick starts,so I have no way to mount a battery(the frame has no mounts for a battery!) on with the frame I just bought  :grr: I can get a refund, no biggie I know the guy, he told us if it didnt work out to bring it back, but now this puts me out another week beofre I can ship it off to get PC'd. :ermm:

So..... who makes a nice 250r grab bar thats reasonable .... :o

This is the one I run. Like a few said earlier in the thread, its cheap. I got it for my b-day..so yeah. i am running a UNI filter, which I believe its meant for the K&N...so things don't really fit in there like they should. Its also starting to crack, and only 1 summer old. If your going to get one...I wouldn't go cheap;)

I was in your same position about 6 months ago and decided to make one myself, so i went and purchased a scrap sheet of aluminum from my local sheet metal shop and proceeded in tig welding the crap out of it then grinding the outside welds down smooth and powdercoating it black. I also decided to buy a wrecked subframe from a atv junk yard and used the strait down tube on the opposite side in place of the bent tube, where the battey originally was. Sent it off to powdercoating, assembeled everything and was sooo stoked with the way things looked. About 4 months down the road the box started to crack on the welds and fall apart, now it is held together with a tie down until i make a new one out of steel, a little bit heavier, but a lot easier to weld and a lot stronger. Ne ways my main point was to do the whole frame thing, because it makes it look a thoulsand times better, and not to go the cheap route. :ermm: just my 2 cents
