Well everytime I go to the drags, everyother race my bikes stands straight up and of course I let off and loose.Which is making me lose lots of money. So I was thiknig of a way to dro pthe back of the bike,we already have custom brackes for the front so its lowered. And I came accross this 2x4,so I cut it 13in. and now its on my bike for my rear shock. And it doesnt come up,which is what I want.Think it will hold??..Even if I have to change the 2x4 after every 2 rides, its worth it.Thaks neil

Ummm not to be an ***....but thats probobly the most ghetto thing i have ever heard. If your that worried about it buy a kit for it. Or at least use a piece of steel. That wood probobly wont last all that long

you can use a simply designed part to make the rear a solid strut. this will probably start alot of wheel hop but id ditch the 2x4 idea.

try limiting the front end suspenion travel first.

You mean putting solid struts on the front?? Because i have the stock front shocks on it,just welded brackets so its lower.I dont realy get what your saying?

you want some form of suspension travel, even for drag racing. if you make the rear solid, when you launch the quad it will either spin or wheel hop and youll still be a loser.

if you are wheeling off the line, you need better clutch and throttle control, and yes, limiting the front suspension somehwat may cause the weight to transfer to the rear differently and launches may improve.

there are a ton of expierenced quad drag racers on this site. im sure they would have far better set up tips then i, but dont try running 70 mph with a 2x4 ziptied in as a rear shock...lol

marvins do have some travel, just enuff to shift the weight tho.

i ride trails some times, but when i goto the drag races i just use tie downs, and tighten down the front and back, so the shocks are compressed and it lowers your center of gravity alot. That way you can lean back and get more weight on the rear tire, and the front end wont come up so easy. I would do this before thinking about putting a 2x4 back their:huh

wheelybar - can dump the clutch, set far back on the seat and pin it without worrying at all - knowing if you lost, its because you were down on power

Since I already made the 2x4 fit,I figured I would just make a few take off's seeing if it would come up.It so much better, not having to worry about landing upside down. But I know it wont last. And about that wheelie bar made of 2x6's,dont give me any ideas :D

I was with a guy on the sand before with a cbr600 motor in a warrior on his first weekend on the sand all he did was strapped the front down with ratchet straps and it worked quite well and it is very temporary so you can still ride trails and stuff.

Well I dont do ANY trail riding AT ALL with this bike,so im looking for something permanent.Just ask somebody to stand on the front end and strap what to what??

just go to tractor supply and get some aluminum tubing. its about eight bucks for 4 feet. strut the front and tie the rear with a ratchet strap. this setup will get you by for a long time especially with a blaster

It will be kind of hard to strap the back with no grab bar,but do I just wrap it around the singarm??,sorry for all of the questions.

just buy a rear strut and be done with it, or atleast replace the 2x4 with a piece of steel

Well I put the shock back on,and strapped the back. But,how do I strap the front?,i dotn see what to strap??

whats a strut? just a metal pipe or tube that replaces the shock?

why would you strut when you could just use tie downs and tighten the front end down?

fasterblaster09

well most people who'sbike is for only dragiing use struts instead of keep on tying and un-tying,but I iwll put straps until I get struts.
