installing 14t sprocket

i am going to buy a 14t sprocket for my 300ex. do i have to do any modifications to any thing when installing. someone said i have to grind the case saver down more. is that the black cover. thanks for any help

Once you remove the black cover you will see the case saver. It is the goldish looking strip of metal mounted between the case and the chain. You have to grind it down so the larger sprocket and chain will fit withought being smashed against the saver. As soon as you remove the black piece over the sprocket you will see what i'm talking about.
