My yfz is backfiring and i put a k and n in and it made it worse, guy at the dealer said i should leave the stock filter in, that k&N is good for cars not quads, is this true or is he a dumba**??

Another dealer said i should back the fuel screw out a half a turn, did it and it didnt do anything.

sounds like you may be lean on the pilot and the main jet, do you have any other mods and are you still running the airbox lid. There is nothing wrong running a K&N in an atv.

ive got a fmf titanium exhaust and no airbox lid, which was like that when i got it, and the guy said he jetted it for the exhaust, but it backfired a little bit when i got it but i just thought it did that, then i put the k and n filter in a made it worse, but ive also got a ratlling that seems to be coming from my motor and i dont know if that has anything to do with the backfiring or if i just need to jet it correctly.

it is a jetting problem for sure way to lean. the guy was talking about kn there filter do not filter really small parrticales of dirt like a uni. but it all depends how you prep an oil filter, one of the best oil filters and clean is the rock oil clean and oil. to prove it pick up a new issue of dirt rider they won the shoot out
