ATV theft is on the rise, and it has affected several of my friends in the past two months with their ATVs stolen out of their garage and house. The friend just purchased the ATV just 3 weeks earlier from a dealership, and he was so excited to finally have a KFX400, and we went riding on Wednesday and it was gone on Saturday.

I have no respect for thieves or those that purchase from them looking for a great deal or opportunity to make some quick money by reselling the item out of state via Ebay or ATVriders.com.

I closed this thread because it seemed extremely suspicious to me, and I thank the person that reported the thread. If anyone notices any thread that seems suspicious, please notify us because I don’t want to be any part of helping someone distribute possibly stolen equipment.

Thieves suck!! My $25,000 dollar laeger crf was stolen out of the back of my trailer, from a hotel near the Philadelphia airport. These low lifes cut the door straps on the trailer, took the spree, powerwasher, helmet and quad. This is an extremely rare quad, 1 of 6 ever built, and the worst part is the guys who stole it, don't even know what they have. Anyways, I have a $500 cash reward if anybody finds it, and all the rest of us will help look for the rest of the quads that get stolen like the z/kfx 400 and the raptor.

keep an eye out for picks that people pull off of ebay to sell else where. i was looking at a very sweet deal that someone was offering on elka trip rates like new for way too cheap, the he said that he had leager arms that he would sell with it when i asked for a pick he sent me the picks rite off of ebay of the leager elka combo buy. when i confronted him he said that that was just a pick of what they looked like and that his camera was broke.. then for a test i said "just so i dont get screwed could i send you just half of the money and then the rest when i get the shock and a-arms"?? HE SAID YES!!!!!! now i know that there is alot of trusting people out there and its one thing if you know the person or live by then and know where to find them but WHAT PERSON WOULD SEND YOU THOSE SHOCKS AND THOSE ARMS FOR ONLY HALF THE MONEY UP FRONT WITH NO WAY TO GET THE REST OF THE MONEY FROM YOU...... i didnt send him a dime he even gave me a cell number to call and i talked to him but that could have been any bodys cell phone and i didnt' want to trace down the owner of it... any way what first tipped me off was the little camera icon on the lower rite courner of the pic... that usually means that it was a photo used on ebay... be cautious it will save you lots of money... by the way i stood to loose almost $600 bucks if i would have went through with it... thats alot of cash.. below are the exact picks that he sent me... if i wouldnt' have been searching ebay everyday and had seen these picks many times i might not have noticed..

I was looking through posts for a frame (cause mine got bent in an accident) and I read an ad with a frame for sale with no Vin#. The kid even said that it was grinded off. Thats more than enough to convince me and I wrote him and not a single person has wrote him since then. His screen name is Quadboy1988, His ad was "stock 400ex parts for sale MUST GO!". I also had a 250x stolen about 4 months ago and nothing pisses me off more than some kid that wants to make money of the things that I work every day to pay for. Im glad that someone is taking the time to try to stop this from happening at this site.

For those that get their quads stolen and live anywhere near a Canadian border , make sure to check out www.trader.ca . You never know ... a stolen quad might make its way across the border and someone might be trying to sell it here in Canada .

If you got your quad stolen , post a picture of it . It's easier to spot a quad from a picture , rather than just a description of it. You know what they say ... a Picture is worth a thousand words !!!!

when i bought my 400ex from a dealer it had a factory replacement frame on it and it had a sticker that had the original vin on it.i also got the original frame too.so i can see some one selling a quad with no #'s because i took the sticker off the replacement frame(quad) when i sold it because i kept the oem frame and title

ive seen quite a few race ready yfzs with 2000 buy it nows and the 400 mentioned before along wioth some rhinos, rincons, and a lot of others all fomr algroup of sellers fomr soemthign like levington, NY and it jsut seems to good to be true, also, i had seen one of the yfzs for sale about a week b4 on a different probly fake auction

I know for a fact that you can't just go buy a frame for a 400ex from a dealer.
You need to have a copy of the title and a photo ID of the person whose name is on that title.
At least that is how it was for me a couple of years ago.

Report it to the Police as an annonymous tipster ... tell them you think you know someone with a stolen ATV ... they'll look into it and bust him . :macho

i crashed my banshee and i needed a frame so i went and bought a 02 frame from ebay looking for a good price. a couple months later i get some paper work in the mail saying the frame i bought was sold from a stolen quad, luckly everything was worked out, cant stand these idiots who take peoples atvs.

the laeger is still missing. I wish it would turn up, but no luck yet. I am stuck working in Philly again, where the quad was stolen from. If there is anybody in the Philly or Chester area that could tell me where to look or any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. The $1000 cash reward still stands, just in time for christmas.

ouch the philly chester area isnt too good of an area :( hopefully it shows up not many places you can ride in philly/chester but the streets.

yeah, chester/philly is a bad place to have a very expensive quad. there is alot of quads in the area tho. I have talked to alot of people about all the quads with the steet racing and drags and so on and so forth. I have a feeling that my quad is less than ten miles from where I am staying, [near the philly airport.]
Alot of people say that Camden is the place to go looking, I can find Camden on a map, but I have no idea as to where in Camden to start. Also, what about the street drags that are in one of the Huevos movies? Does anybody know where in Philly the drags go on??

front street and camden is not a good place to just go wonder. camden new jersey sorta got highest rate of crime per populous in america.

front street is where the racings at. but people get arrested and tickets and all that fun stuff

yeah, i decided it would not be a good idea to go to camden, seeing as how I am a white hic from the sticks. i would stick out like a sore thumb. I am back home in wisconsin, but still searching for my laeger. I went to the chester pd on tuesday, they filled out a report and kept one of the pics and description i gave them. then i went to 2 different towing services that tow for the city of chester, but to no avail. thanks for all the warnings about camden.

not all of new jersey is bad...but camden is the worst place in the counry according to many surveys

Hey everybody i just wanted to let everyone know that last night we had a fourwheeler stolen from us. It is a 2004 YFZ 450 it has blue plastic, orange bottom a-arms and grey upper a-arms, an orange steering stem all from herrmann racing, it has a fat boy 4 duncan racing exhaust, DG nerf bars, ITP MXR4 tires mounted on Hiper Rims with orange rings front and back, a K&N Proflow kit, Axcaliber axle from lonestar, and Fasst Flexx Handlebars. They also stole a blue Fox Racing helmet and a brand new pair of Scott NoSweatXi goggles with a rolloff system. I just wanted everyone to keep theirs eyes open for any of this stuff b/c we would like to catch the low life who did this. It's a sad thing to be afraid to go into your garage hoping everything is still there. They tore our garage up searching for anything that they could take with them, so if anyone has any information it would be much appreciated i appreciate it

Yea, I was reading all the posts on stolen quads, and I really hate low life people sooo bad. But what can you do. But I want to try and help out. Whoever has had their quad stolen, send me a pm, because I browse the internet and sites like these forum websites and I'll let you know if I come across something unusual. I go on ebay everyday and yfzcentral and kfx450central and i come on here sometimes too. my buddys banshee was stolen... we were driving by a local atv shop with a bunch of wheelers and out front as we drove by i almost had a heart attack the bike we hadnt seen in like 4 months was sitting out front!! morons stole it and tried to get it fixed... bikes around here in the western new york area are stolen all the time.. it sucks ive been very fortunate with the half dozen we own never coming up missing but we own alot of guns and hound dogs ready to make noise during the night!!!

wow dude thats great that he got his banshee back. im in elma ny, 20 miles south of buffalo. its a small, quiet town but i know a kid that had his go-kart stolen. i didnt know that this area was that bad. but i always keep my quads locked up. what shop was it at?

this would be a great idea of what the police could do they could have like a truck and a trailer out side of a hotel like an open trailler and the police near by and then just wait for some low life to jump on it and start it then the police bust his *** that would be a good set up bust i think so i might ask some of my local cops to see what they could mabe my quad being the bait ??? mabe you guys should to. we could start our own type of busts :devil:
