I love my 250r. Almost everybody I know that owns a 250r loves it, and likes to ride any chance they get.

Lots of people have done the CR500 conversion, either a 250r frame or something else. They all say it has tremendous power. They ride it, and the motor mounts break from the vibration. They fix it, ride it some more. Boy, sure does vibrate a lot.

They take it to the dunes, rip a few bowls, and park it because their hands are numb.

They shoot the hill, or drag race. Nothing but the modded banshees can keep up with them. Cool, fast. Everybody likes power. Crap, there goes another motor mount.

Of all the people that I have talked to, not a single one of them loves the CR500 for long term. They all say the same thing. "Really fast, but I'll never do another one. I think I'm gonna look for a good 250r..."

I just finished modifying a lonestar frame and mounted a 1996 cr500 in it. I spent a lot of time on it and it looks great. This is not one of those hack jobs. I will be riding it for the first time this coming week and will let you know just how fast it is. I am thinking of selling the frame, however, as I think it will just be unreasonable to maintain two quads. I have another race bike and my sons bike to take care of. Let me know if you are intereted. I would be willing to sell the frame and the lonestar swing arm for $1000.00. There are no cracks or bends in the frame. Just modifications for the CR500 motor. It is the nicest set up I have seen.

i have built two trx 500rs and they both are sold. i will never build another. Like everyone says they have awesome banshee killer power but they break crap like crazy. silencers, pipes, I never had a motor mount break but they were severely heavy duty. 1/4 inch thick. Dont build one if you want to be comforatable either. No matter how much you try to get rid of the vibration it still kills your hands.
