I almsot have a complete aluminum cannondale rolling chassis......and i have a 2001 honda cr250r dirtbike...fully rebuilt weisco.........

The dirtbike is for sale and not selling..and the dale rolling chassis(spare/project bike)....could have any motor in it...but this dirtbike engine is popular with Service honda...and on a quad dyno'ed 48 rear wheel with razr 2's on it...so im thinking.......maybe bore the dirtbike motor out to a 310........port it.....cool head.......and put it in the dale frame......hhmm....can anyone say mid-upper 50's in a quad that weighs 320pds or less???....WET weight!!!.....SHould I??...or should i jsut keep it to the drawing boards..........

OR is there a source to get some kind of cheap 4stroke engine????

Its been done before...all you have to do is switch the bearing carrier around etc......fits right up no probs.

Well i drove the dirtbike by itself last night......if the quad can have that much power(it wouldnt if i kept the engine the same...gonna bore...port..etc).........well if it had the same power or more.......then WOW....it would have some serious pwoer. The thing i lvoe about this dirtbike motor is that it has tons of low end power..and has power basically all the way through. Yesterday...when i rode it...i was gettin on it at the storage complex...and i revved out second.......and i thought it wa done in second....but i hit the gas and the front end shot straight up..the pwoer is impressive...that in a quad would be killer!!!!!

as for the sprocket-brake disc location....all you have to do is put the carrier in the opposite way and have a good welder weld on a new brake stay tab.

Its been done with a KTM motor-

Theres a guy who races around NY with a dale frame that has a YZ 426 engine in it. Even when I saw him it wasn't running properly and he still spanked everyone!

Yeap,
Big Winky...an X dale motor builder did a speciual build and built that yzf conversion. It onvolved cutting the stock dale frame and welding new pieces on to give clearance for the airboot/carb and etc.
It was a sweet coonversion. Theres no better frame then a dales...and if you build a dale motor right...it holds togetehr and is the best motor....but you gotta build them right.....

A dale motor doesnt have to be built to last!
