really not as dumb as a question as you think. the supercross guys are experimenting with expansion chambers on 4 strokes, tho they arent nearly as big the principal is the same. tim farr has one also

History note. Years ago the kids in Europe used to put the 2 stroke moped pipes on the 4 strokes, and there was a significant advantage. However, the 2 stroke pipes were simply a more free flowing baffled muffler and not an actual expansion chamber & muffler. It was the Sachs and Puch brand mopeds, too long ago to remember which was which.:(

You're kidding... right?

Not kidding. Both were similar, just the two stroke one flowed much better. I also did it, 35 years ago.:(

Sounds pretty interesting, but that Mega Bomb looks pretty damn ugly if you ask me. But I suppose if it adds good power, no one should really care.

What is that canister just above the expansion chamber? Is that a factory Yamaha bike?

looking at those tiny dynos at the end of the first page, it looks like they add a good amount od low end, and really good on top, the midrange dosent seem to get any help tho. power must be really smooth

Yea i was gonna ask what kind of power it gains, low, mid, or top. Wonder if it makes em sound different, and if they make em for 300ex's lol

I know what the shock reservior looks like.

After studying it closer it appears to be some sort of crankcase evac. setup. Drag racers swear that it adds horsepower because it creates a vacuum in the CC and moves the air out of the piston's downstroke. It also helps ring seal. I've been wanting to rig one up on my bike to see if it will help. I'd sure like to know where he got that canister.

Is that a supermoto bike? That would explain why the canister is so big.
