I have just spoke with my source of information (who shall remain confidential) and this is what I got. This is still all speculation, but it sounds interesting.

An electric start 450R model, with some other changes. (Was not specific)

A race ready model, possible long travel suspension like that is rumored to be on the Suzuki, and a motor closer to what is in the CRF450R. (Bore and stroke?)

While this is speculation, all will be revealed at the dealer show next week. I guess we'll see how good my source actually is. If any of it is true, just remember you heard it here first. And if it's not, you didn't hear it from me.

He also said something about an electric start TRX90, and possibly a big twin utility to replace the Rincon.

I hope they still have the kick start r and a e model seperate like how the crf450 and crf450x are.

Call me a pessimist, but I don't put too much stock into "Honda rumors". They seem pretty good at keeping a lid on things, so most rumors tend to be just that.

If rumors were to be believed, the 450r was supposed to be an aluminum-framed, fuel-injected beast with independent rear suspension.

No it isn't, and you see the unchanged models were already released, but there was no TRX90 among those.

honda does have a legendary reliable machine, but they are so far behind the times when it comes to bells and whistles that ill never buy another!!!

would be cool if they would come out with a big bore sport, like a 650 or somethin...but it wont happen

What I really think honda needs to come up with is a quad to compeate with the ds650, raptor, they hanve no sport quad over 450cc's. I think they really need to get into that market. Thats more just what I wan't to see from honda, than rumors, but one can hope.

I doubt honda gives a **** about the big bore sport department. Not near as profitable as the 450's.

No but i didnt finish my coffee before the bus came lol

I think they should do something with the 650 bike engine ive been saying this for about a year now n im starting to lose hope :ermm:

everyone has/ and is losing hope with honda, and getting on board with yamaha. i hate to say it, but kudos to yamaha cuz they seem to keep things moving and continue to step it up

The 06 YFZ is amazing! makes the 450r look like childs play

I hate to do this because of all the crap it will start, but we just returned from the Huron National Forest, and there's a drag race hill called Bull Gap. The hill is about 200 yards long and alot of guys gather there to race. My buddy brought his '06 YFZ and I had my '04 450R. The only mods to my quad are the HRC kit and 13 tooth front sprocket. His was all stock except for the open exhaust (no spark arrestor core). First and second gear were fairly close, but after I hit third, I pulled about a 1 1/2 quad length lead the rest of the way up the hill. Now I know this is only one aspect of these quads, and that each has their good points but I think he has a little more respect for the Honda now. Let's hope Honda addresses some of the little issues with the 450R and makes a great quad even better.

When i was at my local honda dealer today , the parts manager told me that they would have two different models (trx450r - trx450x). The 450r would stay basically the same but he said it's a possibility it would come stock with the HRC kit. The 450x would have e-start and different gearing so the first gear would not be so tall. They did have the 2006 400ex there and they look the same exept for the black seat on the red 400ex's. But i think the 450r/450x idea will be great for honda's buisness , because there are a ton of people who would have got the 450r over the yfz if it would have e-start.

I think Honda is doing pretty good with their models but I agree they need to step it up some. On the other hand what is wrong with Suzuki where is the new 450 and also lame brands like Kawasaki and Arctic cat. What is wrong with these people don't they see the interest is there. I really am disapointed with Kawasaki the most. What the hell happened. they haven't put out a really decent sport bike since the Tecate. I think they should make a wicked 450 that has some styling of the Tecate. We could have epic battles with Kawasaki Honda Yamaha and Suzuki battling it out in the pro classes. One more thing I'm really hoping for is the KTM polaris which I'm sure will have styling that a Kindergaden kid could design. Right now I think Honda and Yamaha both deserve cudos. All in all the ATV market is pretty good but they just need to see what we want. All of these ideas have been pushed at one time or another.

I tend to agree with this statement. If this is any indication, there are a lot more YFZ's in the cycle trader here than there are TRX's.
Im glad Im not in the market for a new quad right now, too many choices :confused:

I would love to see a efi 450 from honda. but it probly wont hapen anytime soon.

Kawasaki has the V-force, which has a small but loyal following. It's not in the same class as the 450s, so it's not as popular, but you can't say that Kawi came out with nothing at all.

I'm still eager to hear/see this great Suzuki 450 we've all been hearing rumors about...

efi sucks imo, I would rather keep it simple to a regular carb, kick start then a estart model.

you go with efi how are you going to tune it, take it to the dealership?

no man you buy a laptop just to buy the program then you spend the money to learn how to operate the program and buy this time you've spent just as much as the quad acually cost you...duh

I wouldn't expect much more then electric start, and maybe some revised suspension settings.

I'd still like to see a quad with an xr650r motor in it though. It's honda's best new tech motor. And is a monster when uncorked. A current chassis with this motor (un detuned) would be awesome.

Thats the great thing about EFI. You dont need to to "tune" it. the computer does the "tuning". The computer calculates proper air/fuel ratio at any given throttle position, dependant upon readings from the MAP sensor, TP sensor, and an exhaust gas sensor. data from these sensors is used to calculate the proper pulse and duration for the injector.
No more dinkin with the jets to get the ratio right.
