View Full Version : Which Front tires???

Wanted to go w/ a smaller front tire size and replace my OEM tires on my 400ex. Any recomendations? Ride mainly on trails, some soft. Was thinking on going w/ 21".

I have the stock size tires, but the Kenda Klaw tire and they work really well for trails.

I might be wrong, but I believe the stock (OEM) size is 21". If you ride trails, you probably don't want to go any lower than 21".:cool:

You are wrong! They are indeed 22", but going to an OEM type 21" wont yield much of a difference. If you ride trails only better off just sticking with a 22", but thats just my opinion

Stock are indeed 22" but I feel like they are too tall. I almost feel like they want to roll more than grip. I know that could be a suspension problem but I figured a lot of bikes come stock w/ 21's. Just my 2cents.

Maxxis RazrII's are great front tires for trails.

20's??? theyre good and will grip better than roll...klaws r good razr2 is good holeshots don grip the best but thats all ive heard

i would go with the razr 2's or the I razrs

As far as I know neither one of these tires come in a smaller than stock size.........

Platinum350 I think your on the right track, it is more of a suspension problem with the rolling in the corners, I run 21's currently on my MX bike and they're getting worn down now to the point where my front end still stays perfectly planted but the tires cant grip enough to keep the bike going on my lines.......

I will be getting 20" klaws:cool:

Now correct me if im wrong but is this right:
stiffer the front = easier to wanna roll
softer in the front = washing out arond turns?

Also, where is a good place to get tires?
