i have a 450r to play with at the paducah national in two weeks. this thing is stock except for a slipon HMF. i was thinking to remove the airbox and run a straight filter setup, but i read over at trx450r.org that this motor/carb setup relies heavily on the vacuum of the box for it's low end punch.
what do you think? open it up?
anybody run a straight setup or with the lid off and a re-jet?
what suggestions can someone offer up for more power throughout without sacrifice to low, mid, or top end.
thanks
