not necessarily, you could gain some or you could lose some, it all depends how the engine is running currently.

Take the lid off and start with about a 152 main. May not be perfect so just check.

honda sells their quads with the right jets in them, so i wouldnt mess with that unless you do anything to it, if you take the air box lid off then you should put a slightly bigger main jet in it to even out the air/fuel mixture because when you take the air box lid off it gives the motor too much more air then gas and it won't run right so if you do that then do what 400exstud said and try a 152

Just for your info, Honda and the rest don't sell the quads or bikes with the correct size jets in them. What they do is put in a jet that is on the lean side so that it can pass the EPA numbers that they have to have. On the 400 it is best to use around a 152 if the quad is still stock and a 40 on the pilot to help it start easier. When people just take the airbox lid off they think that they have to rejet. Yes they do, because the quad was and will be more on the lean side.
Just putting in larger jets will only make it faster till you get to the correct jet size. After that it will start to flood out and go slower.
