anybody ever bend a denton

has anybody ever bent a denton stabilizer mounted in the suggested way. I race harescrambles and part of the gncc series and hit a tree last weekend and bent my bumper as far in as possible. If I would have had a stabilizer mounted the way it is shown with the shaft going out the front it probably would have hit it.

Has anyone had any problems
