Jetting??????Help

Can someone help me out. I just purchased a 2000 400ex it is for the most part stoch except for the white bros. slip on and a light weight piston (stock comp.) the air box has lots of holes in it. If you take off the cover the bike still runns. the prolbem I am haveing is that it is running way too rich. It is makeing smoke when you rev it up or get on it when ridding. I am not sure what a good base line is for these bikes with it has done too it. I wanted to know what # jetting i should be running. Please help.

What color is the smoke? What does the plug look like?

I went to take the plug out and realized i don't have the tool kit and for some reason i can't find a socket that fitts. do you know what size socket the plug takes?

i think it is 18mm. you will need a thin walled socket though. it is a tight fit in there.

or just a piece of crap socket (non name brand) cause they usually are thinnner anyways and fit right in. So what color was the smoke?

the smoke is black And the guy i bought it from swares it never burned oil. I will try again later with a cheap socket. also it wont idle with or without the choke when it's cold. when it warms up it idles fine.
