HI All, had kind of a funny question. My friend races a 69 Camaro in the local drag events. His ATV died and he needs me to tow him this weekend. His camaro is 2500LBS. I have a 2003 400EX and would be towing him about 1/4 mile (Flat ground) about 3 times. will the 400EX be able to pull him?? Could I do any major damage to the bike??
Thanks

I bet the quad will do okay since you will be on flat pavement. It isn't real good for the clutches though. I've moved my 1000 lb. trailer around the yard with my 300ex a few times with no problems at all.

Yeah. I have a hitch for mine too. I wouldn't recommend towing from the grab bar though. I tried that with my trailer and all I got was wheelies. lol I've moved my trailer around the yard probably 10 times so far and haven't hurt anything yet.

is it bad to tow from the grab bar? like can it cause damage. i had to tow my dads raptor out of frame deep "goop"(barely mud at that point) from the grab bars

it doesnt hurt the grab bar it just really increases your chance of flipping off backwards.

zq8 you shouldnt have nothing to worrie about...as long as you transfer you weight foward
and another thing with towning with a clutch....keep some slack in the rope, cable, chain when taking off so you ahve some room to ride the clutch out a little bit

no one was on the bike though.was frame deep in muck, we figured that with the suction of the mud, our honda would have trouble yanking it out. The bike started to wheelie, but then i just backed off and put some tree branches under the tires. soon after it rolled out.
