the other day while i was riding my 400 stalled out and now everytime i try to start it with my starter it has no power but it will start and run perfectly 100% fine when i jump start it. im thinkin my battery is dead but does anyone have any ideas. thanks for the help.

it may either be your battery or starter. charge your battery and if doesnt work then its most likely your starter.

i got it start when i used a booster and it ran fine everything so im assuming that it is my battery. thanks guys

I had the same problem, try checking the fuse thats what happened to mine.........

I would check battery, fuse, and all the connections.

If you have an aftermarket CDI then that is your problem

battery could have a dead cell and might need to be replaced take it to nappa and ask for a load test if it holds no load it is probally your battery. If it does hold i would think its your starter;)

Since you have an '02... I am thinking your are due for a new battery.:)

I wonder how long the "stock" battery average life is?

Anyone know?:confused:

I remember replacing my stock one after about 2 years.

I have an 02 and my Battery ran just fine, then all of a suddne right i nthe middle of a FT race it just up and quit. Mine lasted almost 2.5 years, thats really good when its been rode/raced alot and I also have an aftermarket CDI!

You are due for a new one ;)
