Anyone very experienced at hydroplainning across water? I tried it once across 30-40 feet of water that was only a couple feet deap and it was cool but I was basicly holding down the throttle and praying it would work. Any tips would help, it would be hard to swim wearing all my riding gear:D

make sure all ur tire pressures are exactly the same in the rear and the pressure is the same in the fronts or u are pretty much screwed.

the main ingreadiant to good hydroplaning is SPEEEED. get goin as fast as you possibly can and right before you hit the water slam you *** down on the back of the seat cuz you want your front end to be up a little bit cuz you don't want it to be digging in the water. and don't let off the gas no matter what just keep goin and holding on

Doing it on a MXZ 700 is much more fun then in a boat, I take the snow flap off mine and the roost is awsome, esp when I go under the bridge, I will post some pictures next winter :) And some when I get my new quad. :devil

Thanks all, went out to coos bay and played in the water. They had a huge pond out there that only the dirt bikes where doing. It was like 85-100ft wide and around 150-200ft long. I watched a truck go through it and saw it was only around 3 ft deep in the deepest spot so I tried it. Hit the wide spot(85-100ft) tapped in 5th(I run 14\37gearing). Made it within 10ft of the edge and ran out of speed:blah. Oh well it wasn't that deep, I rode it out.
