416 or 440 KIT

WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS PUT IN YOUR EX. THE 416 OR THE 440? I WANT TO HAVE QUITE A BIT OF POWER TOTO GET UP OR TO BEAT A RAPTOR OR 650.

neither of them the pistons alone will beat a raptor, ill tell u that much, but in a drag probaly a 416. for overall more power mayb a good 440. but thats just from what i hear.

sorry rico identacal riders on both quads your 416 would lose by a long shot . your lucky to be at 33-34 rwhp most highly built 440 kit's are still losing ... I own both a 450lrd ex and a raptor to beat a stock raptor you need about 40rwhp and with low comp your not building 40hp :rolleyes:

Well I wasn't referring to some sissy drag racing,,I'm talkin about racing on a track or trails and Since when do stock raptors have 40HP???:confused: I thought they were around 33 or 34 hp..and I don't think i'd get my doors blown off either as you seem to think..

A Raptor puts out more power, it also has a significant amount of excess weight compared to the 400. 40lbs+ more wet weight helps drown out some the hp advantage.

I think a 34hp 416ex could hold it's own against a Stock Raptor, let alone a 40+hp 440.

For Bartlet, How many post have you made here so far....5...6 posts? And nothing you have said is anything but correct. I race a craptor on the weekends and I waste him, this is coming from someone you said, "Doesn't know what he is doing and shouldn't be doing his own engine work" Correct? Thats what I thaught. Now if your saying that Rico can't even blast a craptor then, it really is FOR SALE.

I would say if you want to ride beside the raptor and maybe beat it, a 416 would be less expensive. If you want to whoop on him then get a 472 :-)

I could practiacally beat stock raptors when I all I had was a k&n If you do practically anything to your 400 you will beat a raptor. A raptor may win in top speed but it will take him a while. I know a raptor is no match for a 250 dirtbike and I can hold my own for a few gears with a 250 with the mods I have below.

Do a search for this there was a good thread on it awhile back. (416 vs. 440)

On an MX track you can beat a modded raptor with a bone stock 400 if you know what you are doing....... ***** I even seen a kid on a 300 do it...... Same goes for the DS...... Draggin is for people that dont know how to ride....... All you gotta do is know how to switch gears to drag....... Draggin is fun sometimes but the real skills are shown on the MX track......

your right drag racing is boring .I agree .But i highly disagree when people say a 400ex with a filter will keepup with a stock raptor . in a drag stock for stock . a race to a 5th gear max mph race .the raptor would have a huge lead .

In mx a stock 300ex can beat a raptor with the right rider.
mx is all rider ...only when your talking pro aginst pro does machine make a big differance .

I have gotton my doors blown off by a blaster on a mx track.
Look at the blaster daryl rath just built . it will hands down hand *** to most 400ex mx quads.

The way things go on these fourms are if you own a 400ex its so fast if you own a raptor its so fast ect ect ...

my friend keeps up riding with me a a 200x three wheeler so realy it makes no diferance witch is faster .

Thats why I hate these repetitive post about whos quad is faster...... Ofcourse a raptor will step on 400ex it has 260cc more...... Displacement is everything....... But all that power a raptor puts out goes to waste on the MX track...... And when you put a 416 or 440 kit in the mix plus a good rider on the track a raptor has a very good chance of being stepped all over....... That is providing the rider on the raptor is equal or less than equal to the one on the 400....... Raptors are bad***** quads but not my type of quad....... You cant get me off my 440........
