Leaking 250R

My 250R is leaking fuel from the bottom most vent tube on the carb... I'm pretty sure its the float sticking, any other possibilities before I open it up tomorrow?

The needle that is attached to the float (which is what actually stops the fuel flow) has a rubber tip. If the rubber is rotted or damaged, it will allow fuel to flow past when it should be plugging the hole.

if its the float, before you take it apart, tap on the bowl with a vice-grip and try and knock it free
