ok he wants to know....
if a 400ex swing arm will fit on a 300x frame
if 400ex a arms will fit on a 300ex frame and will he need new shocks and longer brake lines

Yes they will work, but there are major drawbacks.....

1. 400ex a-arms do fit and work on a 300ex, but the geometery is not right, therefore giving bad bumpsteer, and also wears the balljoints and tie-rod ends out prematurly. I have rode on a 300ex with it and didnt like it at all, it was also kinda twitchy at high rates of speed. I do not reccomend it at all, and most people on this site wont eathier

2. To get 7 inches of ground clearance you would need a shock mount relocator (about 90$ for a decent one), and a pair of 400ex shocks (anywhere 50$-100$ for stock ones.)

3. A 400ex swingarm will fit but it requires a longer chain, 400ex axle, carrier, rear hubs, cailper mount, swingarm, shock, shock linkage, and probably something else im forgeting. Your also going to have to weld a mounting point on the frame for the linkage. I have personaly not rode on one, but fellow exr members have and say its great. I was going to do it but I got a 300ex axis rear shock, so Im just gunna stay with a 300ex rear end.

4. On the front of the quad you will not need longer rear brake lines, on the back, I'm not to sure but I wouldnt think so.

Wheel spacers are just as bad..You need to save up and buy a front end for your quad. Use +2 300ex a-arms and get a relocater and 400ex shocks, that is one of the best setups that I know of.

400ex a arms are bad Geometry??!?!?!?!?!
Ricky stair ran the nationals on 400ex long travel, and he killed them, if u have the right setup, not a boot leg setup, then they work GREAT! So id def recomend them, every place i go to theyll tell u to run 400ex a arms on yur 300. so i dont know what your talking about, but most DEF DONT get wheel spacers. And you will need 400ex shocks w/ 400ex a arms, but i do recomend getting the Hetrick Shock bolt RE-Locator, that is atva legal and extends the shock mounts up higher, otherwise 300ex's have NOOOO travel at all. but if you get the right setup they can have Plenty of travel.

That is beacause ricky is one hell of a rider!!! You could put duel rate 13in. works with +3 a-arms and he would still smoke there asses! Yes 400ex or 250r a-arms are NOT the right geometry, use common sense!!! 400ex is not 300ex. I think honda gave them different geometrys for reason, i don't know why, that is beyond me. Just beacause they fit dosnt mean they work.

There's a lot of crying around here about using 400ex arms in a 300ex. They work real good and the "geometry" change isn't enough to worry about for most good riders. Say what you want but it beats the stock setup and it's fairly cheap. Get the 400ex shocks too but find a relocation kit, they make the quad sit way too high without it.

Also the swingarms are differnt enough that it would be silly to go through the trouble of the swap. For this you are better off getting a 300ex swinger.

I agree about the swingarm but the 400ex a arms are a BAD idea. As the a arms move up and down you will see a dramatic change in toe in.

If running with the EX a-arms is such a bad idea then why does Hetrick suggest using them?
