Ok, I've had a lot of people asking about pics since I got the Burgard front end put on. Luckily, I got a friend to come by and lemme borrow a cam, so no more waiting. But, here's a few shots.

Here's a shot from the side. You can see that I had the 450R heatshield powdercoated black to match the oil filter cover and motor mounts.

Looks good:devil: I just picked up a 450r heat sheild too. Makes a big difference on the right leg. I really like your color scheme:cool:

Here's a shot of the front end. I've still got a little fine tuning to do, but I'll wait until I can get to the track to get it all dialed in. So far though, the front end rides real smooth.

Thanks. Yeah, they do help with the heat on your leg. I love mine since I had it powdercoated.

My heat sheild is still the stock color since I can't decide what color to go with. At least my pants aren't getting toasted anymore lol

Haha, yeah. I know what you mean. I got quite a few scars on my leg from the pipe.

Haha. yeah the pipe will let you know when you get too close. I see you have a RTC brake lever. Does it make much of a difference from stock? I have the RTC clutch and I like it alot but the front brakes work so well now I'm not sure it's worth changing.

Oh yeah, the brake lever is real nice. Lets you adjust the reach, and it just feels good all around.

looks really nice but the only thing that takes away from it is that side case. that takes away from the whole bike jmo other than that it looks killer. and by the looks of it the next thing on your list is some hipers

Yes, the motor is internally stock for now. As for the 14/34 gearing, it works fine for low end, and top end. It's got plenty of low end punch, and it gets movin pretty fast.

The crankcase covers, I had those powdercoated that color, because that's the way I wanted it done. They look a lot better in person. Plus, if the powdercoating ever wears of, it'll be harder to see. That's one of the reasons I chose that color.

As for the 450R heatshield. Go to www.yamahaoftroy.com and look up the 450R. It's somewhere on there. Basically, you have 3 brackets and 3 hose clamps that just bolt around the pipe. Real simple.

Yeah, the swingarm is a stocker for now. I'm keeping my eyes open for a used Burgard, so lemme know if you hear anything.

The hood is basically one of those pieces that you need to get, and work on making fit. You'll need to trim these areas to get it to fit- the mounting tabs at the rear of the hood(only take off enough to remove the indents for the bolts), around the steering stem cutout, the leading edge of your front fender, and the area underneath your hood.

You can't really tell it from the photo, but I made a small honeycomb style grille to fit in the hood. If anyone wants one of these, I'll be more than happy to cut one for a few bucks and cost of shipping. PM me if you wanna know more.

Just to show how the hood looked when I installed it, before I started trimming.

and here is how it looked after a little trimming. All you gotta do is figure out where you want it positioned, mark it out, and cut.

Wow that is the nicest 300 I have ever seen.(need a drooly smiley) Did you just widen the area around the stem to match the hood? How much were those a-arms?

ZeroLogic

i see you got some hand guards now;)

300ex73
08-31-2005, 08:34 AM
Yeah, I just widened the area around the stem. And the arms cost me about $700, but I feel that they were worth it.

And I HAD handgaurds. I took them off not too long ago and put them on my Suzuki. Maybe I'll get another set for it sometime.

$700 isnt too bad. You got them from Burgard? I checked their site and I couldnt find them anywhere.
