When i last went to my local drag strip i kept losing because i counldn't keep the front end down. I didn't want to build/buy a wheelie bar , so i bought some old 300ex front shocks and a CRJ Performance rear lowering strut. I can now rev it to the moon on pavment with my stock tires and pop the clutch and it goes straight foward and not straight up. I just thought i would share with everyone , i can't wait until next friday , here are some pics ..............

LOL , no i just bought the 300ex shocks and rear lowering strut for drag racing , i still have the 450r front shocks and rear link. I just race at the drag strip every month or so , i still trail ride almost every weekend. It only takes about 30 minutes to swap everything out.

the first pic looks funny. Like a mini quad or something. Maybe it's stock tires and width.

what kind of times are you running on the pavement with those shocks and what kind of gearing are you running ... I just cut some square tubing to a length of about 15 inches and then take a pull strap and strap the ***** end down and it is like a rocket ship it just will not bring the front tires up

Damn nice burnout Jim! I run asphalt myself with fresh bult 460ex. Trying to get dialed in and running 8.20's^^

Do you run the M/T true slicks on rear? Who did your stroked crank? Thanks for any help--I may build another motor later on and yours sounds like it hits hard.

good to see that worked better for u. we tried that on one of my buddies 450rs, but with +2 LSR aarms and it didn't work so well. if you pushed down on the bumper at all the frame would hit :p

That bike would be faster if you took off the front brakes and cut down the rear plastic, pick up a couple tenths.

Thanks.

I take the brakes off for some things but I had a hill climb the week before (Beaverdale Hill Climb) and did not have time to remove them. And the plastic I just haven’t felt like doing it. I have a new set in the box but the rears I can’t see making that much of a difference.

Beaverdale hill climb in PA? I live like 20min for threre. I'd like to see a turbo R run. I was there around 3 years ago and talked to a guy with a 400ex that was a 502 or 508, was that you by chance?

Hey dude...I have a 450r that I drag race... But I do it on dirt....But anyways, when u put those 30ex front shocks in did you have to cut the springs or anything, or are they really that short..I was also thinking about getting a set of them and putting a dura blue front lowering kit in.. Do you think that would be to low? And last but not least, are the 300ex shocks soft, or do they hold up on the R?

Thanks dude
