HELP! Need to know how to do VIN Search

I'm going to be buying a 250R tommorrow with no title.

How can I do a VIN search.

Oh and btw, i would not buy an untitled bike for obvious reasons. Not a safe bet. BUT, it is a 250r, so most likely it is fully paid for by the owner that you are going to buy off of. That is the main thing to be concerned about. Also, how would you know if it was ever stolen? Things can get fishy when titles arent present.

a real easy way is to copy down frame and motor numbers and find a cop or go to your local police station...they will do it happily....good luck

Thanks, So I guess I'll just get the police to run the vin then. I was hoping I could just do it online but the locals will probably know better.
