Is $2500 for a stock 2000 400ex a good price? Please advise

Hi. I have found locally a guy with a 2000 400ex with the 440 bore kit on it. It is stock and in good condition. He is asking $2500 for it. The tires need replacing. Normal frame rust is present. I would say this is in average condition. Is this an awesome quad to ride in the woods and mud and is this a fair price ? What would be a steal of a deal price?

what all is done to it? $2500 is not a real good price. 400's are cheap right now. who did the motor work, put the 440 in? i would be leary of buyng something with alot of work. i would look for something else if i were you, you can prolly find a newer one for about the same price.

The guy has no idea the history of the motor or who did it. I think I can get it for$2000, but I need you seasoned guys to advise me.
