I heard on the news the other day , that by the winter time , here in northern ontario we will be paying over $8 a gallon . There goes my plans on buying a truck ... maybe I'll have to start looking at those Hybrid / Smart cars . :ermm:

Exactly, I hate when people compare the price of gas with things like milk and other stuff that isn't consumed nearly as much as gas.

19+ gallons per week? I wish. I go through double that.

LOL same here... I usually fill my truck up 3 times every 2 weeks... about 25-30 gallons a fill up which translates into $60-70 a fill up. I'm so happy its a company vehicle with gas card!

I guess it pays to have a 4 cyl. truck that gets around 25 mpg.
I'm not really complaining about the prices of gas but it does put a bit of a dent in the wallet. Especially compared to when I started driving gas was only $.87/gal.
Personally I wouldn't pay $50/gal of coffee. I think I'd find something else to drink. I know what you mean though.

Especially since all these high oil prices are going towards terrorist funding...
I saw this article a few days ago and found it interesting....
http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/2005-08-23-windfall-usat_x.htm
"In case $3-per-gallon gas isn't depressing enough, consider what your gas money pays for: A bull market in Saudi stocks. Handouts for Fidel Castro. And weapons for anti-American terrorists."
Kind of scary!

I was just reading about the cost of gas around the world.
In venezuela gas is .12 a gallon 12 cents!
kuwait is .58
egypt is .65 cent
That's awesome I could fill my truck for $10.
I remember a couple of years ago gas was .89 a gallon but we will probably not see below $2.30 ever again.

I'm actually buying a small cheap car(when I say cheap I mean CHEAP) because of this very reason. I'm a student and I can't afford to drive my truck all the time when it gets maybe 13-14 MPG at best. :(
Twenty bucks gets you around 8 gallons of gas if you're lucky, and that sure makes a difference between a vehicle that gets 13 MPG and a vehicle that gets 35-38 MPG.
