Well, I figured since this is asking so many times, And me being the first to do it on the site, I'd make a tutorial so there arn't 600 new threads everyday for it. Hopefully someone can make it a sticky. Anyway I hope this helps everyone out. Since I don't have my 300ex anymore I can't go and take new pics but i'll do my best with the ones that I do have.
Your going to need.
A stock or aftermarket 250r scoop
a drill
I used bolts and locking nuts. But you can use whatever you like really.
A dremel.
First thing is to take off your stock hood and tank plastic. I've seen others do it a little different then mine. But the way I did mine the hood runs with the body lines and whatnot much better. I used a fibe industries 250r scoop for mine. So there were already mounting holes in it. I lined up the hood on the bottom and top and used a marker to mark where the holes go. Then I drilled the holes. Thats basically it for mounting the hood. Then I took my tank plastic and shaved it down to where it fit right against the hood and flowed right into it. I wish I could include a bunch of pics to show exactly how. But I'll show what I do have.
This is somewhat what your plastic should look like without the hood on and the holes drilled.
