ok so my buddy over torqued the bolt that holds his oil line in place, he cant afford the money for as heli-coil so i was wondering if this line is able to be JB welded into place?

here is a picture to help you understand..

Just my opinion, but to me that seems like something u should fix right. just save up the money someway, because the damages u could face if u didn't JB it right will be a a ****load more. trust me.

i wouldnt jb weld it.....just incase some of the jb gets in the line or cloggs it when it dries........they sell thread repairs at auto part stores, there like springs u put in the stripped whole and you screw it into that

well, how do you ride it if both sides are dirty? "shiny side up, dirty side down" right?

Talk Temp...

JB Weld only holds to 300 degrees plus... I believe oil temp gets hotter than that. heli-coil or weld new aluminum in place and retap.

I would heli-coil or do something stronger.... I know there is another way that is stronger than heli-coil, but I forgot the name of it.

Good Luck.

awesomeness must have been huffing glue again before he decided to post, becuase that guy makes no sense at all

its a sport quad we got riding everywhere, of course it is going to be dirty, and if you think that is dirty then **** you dont want to see us after a long backwoods trail ride in the rain

haha wtf the only people who should have clean 400ex's are dune riders otherwise your just not riding it in the right places!

I agree that's about the cleanest a woods quad ever gets. Dirty looks more like this.

I stripped out my oil filter cover bolt, the long one. I still had some half-a**ed threads in it so I just wrapped the bolt a couple times with teflon tape and it tighted up nice. its just a temporary fix though

BOTTOM LINE: If you cant afford a helicoil, how can you afford a quad?
