Has anyone ever mated the bottom end of a 250R counterbalanced motor with a CR500 jug? I don't see why this couldn't be done with a lot of machining and possibly some spacing. This would have been awsome if Honda had of done this at the time of the Quadzilla!

i think most ppl put on scrambler 400 heads, i guess the holes are within millimeters of lining up.

It's been done before. A couple years ago in dirtwheels there was an atc500r that I belive had a cr500 cylinder on it.

that thing had the whole cr engine if i remember right.
it'd take alot of machining to get the 500 jug to work with a 250 bottom. too much work. the stroke is way different and the 500 piston isn't what the 250R's counterbalancer was designed for.

its been done. theres a review of one on the net sumwhere... had to weld up all the stud holes in the cases and make new ones. i think a new rod had to be used too...

If it's a 500cc engine you want, check into www.saberracing.com
Huge bore, huge horsepower. I would venture to say it would be better than a CR500 top end.

sumone already mentioned saberracing
and pro-x jugs which top out at 400cc bored an stroked
dont forget the pilot jug hybrids which get close to 500cc's and r more reliable then the polondas
