If I was to take my relatively stock 2001 400ex, add the 440 kit, what would be the est. HP?

If anyone would know, It would be much appreciated..

Thanks.

Thanks fellas, I am just wondering what would give me the best bang for the buck. Havent done much here now, Twinair filter, Dynojet Kit and a 14 Tooth in the front, should get the exhaust happening I guess. Not looking for a drag machine, more of a torque machine.

Any info would be great..

Thanks

Raptakilla14, is right your toping out at 38max hp.

With my mods I have about 34-38hp.

This is to the ground HP, Hp from the motor would probably be about 10hp more.

Heres a link to a built 440ex dyno....

For some reason 19lb/ft comes to mind. I think I read that somewhere....dont quote me on it though. ;)

I am getting 37.5-38.5 at the axle. 440 Sparks cam, 1mm larger valves, 39FCR, sparks x-6, 50 pilot-172 main.

We were able to get 1.2 HP by pulling the air cleaner.I always run a standard Foam--

Our Dyno bolts to the rear hubs. Stock 400EX without lid. 28.6

I don't know where some of these guys get those numbers but with my mods I got 35 hp at the counter sprocket.

My numbers are from Roush Racing. We do dyno testing for everyone from Ford-GM-DCX-Toyota-Honda-Arctic Cat-And all of our Nascar Teams. Numbers from Dyno to Dyno can be different so in my opinion the best way to test is to get a run at the beginning(before mods) and then each after. My bike started out at 28.5 HP(6 runs) and is now in the High 38's to 39.
