After attending the majority of group rides in the past, I would have to say that this ranks as the highest attended and probably most successful ride to date.

Rausch Creek ATV MX park opened its gates to our site for 2 days of fun the entire family could enjoy! A few Pro Riders made the ride and signed autographs for fans, and just about everyone had thier fix of riding thanks to the weather being in almost complete cooperation.

Site member pgregg85 hit the track early saturday morning and had the Expert atv track almost to himself.

Pappy

Friday rain showers led to saturday morning fog and mist that is common to the area. I knew the weather would come around and the track conditions would shape up nicely for the event.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:34 PM
The first few quads came out on the track and started getting the layout down. The track has changed since alot of the members had been there last and there is no shortage of large jumps at Rausch!

Site member Tommy rolls over the take off of a 70 foot double! If you like big air then this is one track that delivers!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:36 PM
Here pgregg85 rides between one large double. I wanted to try and show some scale so that anyone else thinking of making the trip to Rausch can see that this place is no joke!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:38 PM
With the sound of quads on the track, more riders started getting geared up and warmed up. Dupontster clears a table as the fog lifts.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:41 PM
I did not get to meet everyone who attended so i aplogize in advance if i dont mention your name if i post a picture of you. Between photo's, cooking and keeping an eye on my kids I was run a bit ragged:p

XC Racer, Tyler Lenig, isn't afraid to jump.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:42 PM
KH426 made the trip, and I believe Rausch Creek lived up to everything I told him it was. I think he got lost trying to find the different tracks:p

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:46 PM
With the weather looking like it could bust out raining at any second (it didnt:devil: ) the riders that took to the track early had almost perfect conditions and were having a blast.

I see MXjunkie did indeed get his banshee out of his living room and to the ride:eek:

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:48 PM
It only took a few laps and riders started getting bigger air and the speeds were getting up to where they should be.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:50 PM
Bansheeguy breaking in his new YFZ!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:51 PM
cody was having fun learning the advanced kids track!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:53 PM
Quad041's partner in crime airs out his quad as he practiced clearing the large step down.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:54 PM
The sun had no sooner peeked thru the clouds when quads started hitting the track like a hobo after a ham sandwich:D

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:56 PM
TLC, aka Traci Cecco sends her YFZ to the sky as she got in some practice. Traci is not only a good egg, and a great rider, she can shuck corn pretty good also:p Thank you so much Traci, and the wife thanks you also.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 04:58 PM
Not to be out done, Rick Cecco shows he isnt scared to get some air!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:00 PM
The main man behind ATVriders.com, Harlen Foley, pushes his GNCC Stock Class Z400 to the limits at every race, and he did not show it any kindness at this ride!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:01 PM
A bit of freestyle tends to pop up whenever a camera is seen:D

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:04 PM
Here a rider pitches it in and makes a large jump look easy!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:10 PM
Quad041, a longtime member on this site and one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet. Lou is not your usual 130 pound MX rider, but if you think for a second that slows him down you had better be prepared to rethink a few things.

Airing his beautiful Walsh CRF450 out over a huge stepdown, he is always willing to style for the camera. Lou, it was great hanging with you guys again this weekend!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:14 PM
At some point, I realized that there were litteraly quads at almost every section of the track. Trying to cross without being used as traction was getting tough.:p At one point I counted over 35 quads on the Intermediate Track:eek: On some tracks that would be crowded, but not at Rausch!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:16 PM
Harlen gives me a look as he leads Rick Cecco over the jump. I should have known this would lead to something that could get me run over:scary:

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:24 PM
Ive known Harlen for several years now, and my gut was telling me he was up to something.

(a bit later, when harlen saw the picture, he gave me $50 to tell you all that he was just jumping bigger and higher then rick:o )

(a bit later still, rick paid me $50 to tell you guys it was merely the angle of the picture and he indeed was right with harlen:o )

You guys make up your own mind, i have $100 to spend:devil:

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:27 PM
Actually, we were trying to get a shot of them looking at each other in the air. The way the jump is built, I didnt think it would look right with me being on the side of the jump.

Ofcourse, when I explained this to my best buddy harlen:grr: he said..."c'mon Pap, stand infront of the jump and run away once you get the picture"

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:30 PM
So, there I was. Waiting on my 2 buddies to clear this big jump with me standing on the landing. I dont know if it was the smirk they had on thier faces when they pulled back on the track or maybe it was just the fact I was born with a shred of common sense, but this ol' boy wasnt going to give either one of them the chance to claim they killed kenny:eek:

Now traci I trust:devil:

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:34 PM
My youngest son found the beginner kids track a blast and between him and cdy they went thru 4 tanks of fuel.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:35 PM
Cody had gotton the advanced track down and was clearing all the doubles they had to offer.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:44 PM
GNCC Pro Rider William Yokely and Jamie Bougher

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:46 PM
William found some shade and a table and promptly began signing autographs for all that wanted one. It was great seeing him stop by to check things out.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:53 PM
GNC Pro Jason Luburgh arrived, but decided he wanted to show everyone how to go real big and real fast!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:56 PM
Randy Lehr arrived saturday morning, with expectations of spending the day getting huge air and having a blast as usual. Bad luck side lined Randy after only a few laps as something in his engine let go.

My brother handed him the keys to his YFZ and Randy indeed got his chance to show everyone he is a great rider in his own right!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 05:58 PM
Luburgh nails this 80+ jump with ease!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 06:04 PM
Lehr wasnt going to let this pass without himself nailing the jump.

Now my brothers YFZ is not really what you would call a race quad. Stock engine, stock pipe, stock swing arm etc. Randy just hammered it:devil:

Pappy
08-21-2005, 06:06 PM
I actually missed all this fun and was preparing the food. I sure wish I could have seen these to talented riders ripping it up!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 06:08 PM
Jason is getting close to needing a pilots licsence i think!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 06:09 PM
And Lehr may need a parachute instead of a chest protector:eek:

Pappy
08-21-2005, 06:14 PM
Thats all i am going to post for right now. I would like to give the members a chance to tell some stories and what not. I know we all had a blast and my 2 kids are pretty wore out, not too mention me and the wife. It was great seeing everyone, and meeting new faces.

I have more folks to thank but for now id like to see what some of you thought about Rausch Creek and the ride!

Pappy
08-21-2005, 06:21 PM
Just a heads up, between harlen and myself we have over 1200 pictures. I have all of them and im getting harlens loaded up now. we tried to get everyone so bare with us while i get everything posted.

All I can say is the only thing that could have possibly made it better would be if it was an every week event!!! From Pappy's mad skills with grill and smoker, Chad's knowledge, Jim's BAD ***** 530, Luburgh, Lehr, Gregg, and whoever 133 was aerial skills, and Rausch's awesome facility, everything was pefect. Let's do it again in the fall!!!!!

This was my first time on a motocross track, and I can't say how much fun I had out there, even if it was only a rental 250ex I was riding:o It was great to meet some of the people that I am always talking to on AIM or here, and put a face to the name. Everyone there was helpfull, and very friendly. For the first half of the day my 250r was getting worked on. Thanks to QuadRacer041 and his friend for helping me get my motor started, Kenny's brother for the hour or so that he was helping me get everything tightened up. And again thanks for the rear wheels and tires ken.

There were deffinatley alot of different set ups one could take a look at.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 07:42 PM
The track featured a cut off at a double double section. That is pretty cool for folks that just want to have a wide open run instead of the jumps.

Pappy
08-21-2005, 07:44 PM
Berm shots are sweet, and with huge berms to rail around on you can get your fill at Rausch!

The guys at Mobile Dyno tweaked Codys little 90 and fixed him up. A needle clip change gave him some dyno proven torque and much better throttle response. A main jet swap will hopefully find us a bit more power also.

i was disapionted with mine although they did find that my jetting was MUCH to rich all around so i should be able to get more power out of it. i only made 39 hp

Yes, I do have tearoffs on both sides. When I load my goggles with tearoffs, I put the first one or two toward the right and the rest toward the left.

The reason for the ones to the right is for two reasons. First, If I reach for one tearoff and accidently pull them all on the left, I still will have atleast one or two left to finish the lap on the right. The other reason is too warn me that I am on my last tear off, so I will know when I pull it from the right that is it for the lap, and I will need to pit for goggles.

This loading method has saved me several times over the years because I hate riding without goggles especially in the mud.

haha yeah he does. now we will be visiting the engine builder and getting the new carb installed and back on the dyno. it should be in the 9~10 hp range but with the stock carb its only pulling 5. imagine what he will hit with twice the power:devil:
