When I put my DMC on my bike, I removed the oil tank to get the old header off. I tried doing without removing the oil tank, but couldn't. Now I'm changing the exhaust on my other 4oo and would rather not remove the oil tank. I read in some other post that you don't have to. I'm just wondering if anyone else has done it without removing the oil tank and if there are any tricks to get it out because I couldn't. But I have to change the oil any way so...

Yea, when i put my alien in, i too though i was going to have to move the tank. Just have patience and twist and turn the header. It has about a c-hair amount of room, but it'll slide out.

Are you putting an Alien on your 400? If so, i have found that a 165 and no box lid works great on mine....

Texan32 I have the DMC full system on my other bike already. I'm putting the R4 slip-on on this bike. Thanks for the jetting tip. You guys were right, it came right off with a little wiggling. I don't know what my problem was with the first one, maybe no inside info from the guys at exriders.com knowing that it can come off without removing the oil tank. I haven't started it yet but on Saturday I will. Thanks
