I was thinking about getting rid of that useless parking brake setup on my 300ex but wasn't sure what to do about the reverse button. Is there a clutch lever I can buy that has a spot for it?

If not what have you done about it???

Thanks,
Paul

What did you do about the reverse button on the clutch lever???

I would like to be able to get rid of that big parking brake mess on my handle bar but don't know what to do about reverse.

Thanks for the info,
Paul

I haven't seen a clutch perch that has a spot for the reverse button....I don't think anyone makes them.
You either have to do the reverse mod thats listed in the Tech section or put a spacer in your stock clutch perch.
I personally didn't want to do the reverse mod so I used a nylon spacer and it works fine although it's not as clean looking as a aftermarket clutch perch.
If you look at the stock 400's, they use the same clutch perch as the 300's with a metal spacer.

Thanks for the info RedRyder, I will have to look into those spacers. I didn't like the sound of that reverse mod too much so I think I will stay away from that.

If anyone else has ideas let me know.

I just took a piece of chain and chained up the part where the reverse cable goes onto the motor.

i did the same as freestyle except i used a zip tie, it works great and i can have an aftermarket perch and lever now, that has a much better pull

heres what you do with those 2 wires on the stock perch

pull the rubber clips off the box and cut the rubber thing off one, and stick the two together, see #1, then route it into the light switch/starter assembly under the metal plate, see #2, and put it back on the handlebars

Heres mine. I'm into trapping/snaring, so I have access to cable. I just put single ferrules on the ends, see arrows. It looks better than a chain or a c/t. No offense guys. And you cannot pull up the reverse lever while it is in gear. The machine wont let it happen. You won't reck your machine.
