I have searched and searched and cannot find anything on how to do this. There are 4 wires coming from the key switch (red, black, black/white, and green). How do you bypass the switch entirely without draining the battery? Can you install a pro design kill switch in place of the key switch? I know that someone on here knows how to do this. Please help. Thanks.

I recently put a hood on the bike. It does not have a predrilled hole for the key switch. I do not want to drill a new hole in my plastics somewhere. I'd rather bypass it.

You could always get the handlebar plastic piece that comes on the 05's. You can relocate the ignition to that and still retain your neutral light.

what some people do, is zip tie them under the plastics onto the frame.

Well ive never bypassed the one on my 400 but here is a pic of the schematic out of the 400 book. Hope this helps. The ignition switch is on the bottom left corner

Thanks! Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like the red and black are connected when the key is on, and the black/white and green are connected when the key is off. Hmmm. Does anyone know more about this than I do?

It appears that way, apparently when the black/white wire coming from the ignition control module is grounded out, the system shuts down. Basically when you shut the ignition switch off you do two things: Ground out the computer and break the positive from the battery to the starter switch.

The main keyed ignition appears to serve a double circuit type. Im not sure how you could hook it up to a kill switch since they are only single circuit switches. I want to say that you could just worry about the red and black wires which would make things easy, but without the green and white/black connected when the biek is off, theyre may be an unseen current draw

My friend lost is key and bypass is switch over a month and never have battery problem.Don't forget your light on and keep in in first gear (for the neutral light) and you will never have battery problem

I have a 250r hood on my quad and the zip ties and duct tape work great for relocating my key. You cannot see it and I know that someone else just cannot walk up and start it either.
