i'd like some comments from those who run or have ran with 19 inch front tires for mx. i'm waiting on some radials to come in, but i need to get a set of holeshots for certain track conditions, so i'm trying to figure which is better 19's or 20's. i've got 18 inch rears if that makes a difference.

i have 19 inch holeshot mx's on my 250r (went from 21 to 19). it was a big difference. u need to (in my opinion) have more arm strength to control the quad. the front end is more twitchy. if u hit a rut, it will pull u in more than 21's will. stuff that 21's would run over 19 would fall into. if your gonna be racing flat smooth hard pack tracks without a lot of ruts i would go with 19's if it is an abuse, easily rutted, rough track i would go with 20's.

thanks for the tips. the tracks i ride on are usually groomed pretty well, and i know some of the guys ride with 19's, so i guess they would be good for me, i just wanted some other opinions. also, my radials, i guess, will be closer to 19 inch, so changing between the two will be different only in how they ride, not how they look. that may sound funny, but with the shaved fenders, i really get a feel for looking at the front tires. thanks again...

I don't have any experience yet with the 20's but I've talked with a few guys at the track that went from the ITP 19's to 20's and they said they like the 20's much better. and yes you feel every booger and pebble you run over with the 19's. I suggest the 20's,,,I've also noticed more pro's running 20's this year too..

more good points. thanks. i'm going to have to think about this a little before i buy. i just found out that my radials "might" be in next week, so i'm not in such a rush now to get some holeshots.

if u just ride at the track 19's should be fine. if its rough get the 20's. What are u running on the rear because i heard that 18 inch tamers are really 17 so that makes the 19's in better proportion than real 18 rear to 19 front. Sorry if thats confusing:confused:

that wasn't confusing. i'm running 18" holeshots in the rear right now and will also have a set of turf tamers soon, so i see where you're coming from. thanks for the input.
