Anybody know prices for this stuff? I'd like to get some small parts PC'ed, then maybe my A-Arms and swinger, or even my frame. Do colors matter? Excuse me for being an idiot but I really have never even looked into this until just now. I wanted a black with red flake clear. Oh, and sorry for breaking the no chat rule :(

really pappy is not the only person who can do it. he is good but it will probably be more convienant to take it to a local shop to get it done. heres my advice. go to lowes or whatever store u got and buy a WHOLE bunch of 4mm 6mm 8mm and 10mm bolts. put em in the bolt holes of your frame but dont tighten all the way. when u get it back take the bolts out and u have clean bolt holes with no need to retap or anything.

while i do tell folks to always check locally, you need to make sure they know what to powder and what to leave bare. i have redone so many parts from shops that have no clue what they should not coat on a quad. and any shop that tells you that you are responsible for taping off areas or plugging holes does not deserve your business.

oh yeh im not sayin that u do bad stuff but i would def. check out some of the shops work before i paid for my frame to get coated by them. im just sayin i know ur really busy and one would have to box up the frame pay for shipping and stuff.

Pappy's picture is pretty close. The frame in my picture has gold flake in it too.

Looks diffrent shades depending on how you look at it. Diffrent powder suppliers have diffrent names for the same and or slightly diffrent colors too.

Ya I got one of the Hot Coat Systems and been doing some stuff for fun, parts for my truck, quad etc. I've only used the eastwood powder so far. It seems quite pricey.

anyone have pictures of fading powdercoat from one color to another? Has anyone ever tried? We just powdercoated my buddies raptor and we faded the frame from onange in the front to yellow in the rear. We just got it together about an hour ago. Tomorrow we are going to wash it up and i will post some pics.

Finally finished.

Spiced Berry Translucent over chrome- Frame, sprocket, hubs, top of throttle, possibly the pipe soon, but will probably be selling my HMF and buying a new Nmotion Pipe.

110% Black (makes it look wet)- Bottom A-arms, Swinger, bottom of throttle, Nerfs, bumper,

Chrome PC- Top arms

High Temp PC in Silver- Header Pipe (holds up really well)

I think it turned out really nice. My bf did a great job on coordinating. All PC was done at the Powder Room in Kechi KS

At Lorac in Wichita KS just the frame is like $600...which is ridiculous. we found someone who does it on the side, which naturally may take longer but we got everything i listed up there ^^^ done for $270. idk what other people charge

Completely depends who you go to you will have to check with your local powdercoating/paint specialist. I had my 400ex frame done a few months ago for 125 bucks, I have heard other people say they paid like 800 for a frame and some a arms. Its a crazy world

Regarding the candy blue trans:

Thats the exact color we used for our TRX 90. I'll post pictures after new plastic and graphics. But I like the color. It's looks even better in the sun.

There it shows more metal flake...yes i built my quad in my basement (no garage) the cost of powder coating...for the frame and subframe orange w/ metal flake and nerf bars gloss black my bill came to $305 not including the gas bill driving 4 hours each way! That was the closest guy that would do a different color then just black and white.

Thanks man, Yeah it was pretty sweet. I'm finally buying my own place so now i'll have a garage, my expensive toy has to sit outside, It's a good thing nobody in this town has a clue what that thing is worth :devil:

just so you guys know, Gen X can make you a hood in almost any of these colors at no extra charge. Even colors not listed on the site. If you send them a sample piece of your color they can match it and send you back a sample to see if you like it. Jeeze ur crazy haha. Wow, I would LOVE to make one of those quads someday. Just start from almost scratch, paintin everything that could hold it. Plus it must be amazing sittin back when its done and lookin at it. But I have to go the cheap spraypaint way. Oh, well... Maybe someday. Do you even ride those??

i have bean painting cars/quad... all my life an one thing i found out is that a spray can from autozone paints just as good as my $300 air guns an stuff! when i was 8 years old i painted a moto-4 with spray paint... lol it looked like new an still to this day sits in all most mint! dont get me wront pc will hold up alot longer an is alot harder to chip but if you do it right the spray paint will last for years

this was the last pic taken (****y cam!) i was 14 at the time this was takin

i did this when i was 8 with spray paint lol rims/motor/frame everything that can be painted! it cant look any better no chips no runs!(my dad helped me i just didnt pic up a can of paint an it turned out right there is alot more to it then just paint!)

Also is it ture that "flat" color are harder to wash off the mud and such? Or they can get mud stained?
