I just got a new truck and didn't get the loan through my bank but through the dealership. Anywho when I got the 450 last year i put my truck on the loan for collateral. Now my bank says i have to get insurance on the 450 to protect their investment. Makes sence but how much is this going to cost. I'm 24 years old, have a perfect driving record. and married. My 2005 GMC Caynon Crew Cab 4x4 only cost $80 per month.

its dirt cheap. The good thing about insuring them threw state farm is that you can insure how much the bike is worth so us people with the 11 thousand dollar bikes can actually insure all of the parts we have invested

GET IT!

I live in california so you need insurance for everything, but I think it was the best investment I coulda made. It covers theft, damage (if you wanna pay the deductible) when your riding, and while it is on the trailer, it is cheap as sh*t.

I have tried insuring my bike thru State Farm. But they won't take it because I don't have anything else insured with them. Are there any other companies? I am with American Family for all my vehicle and home and they were going to charge about $500 a year just for the bike!

I tried to get Insurance for my 450 and I called alot a places and the price was way to high. After I did the math in 5 years of insurance I could almost buy two new 450r's. Also I am 25 with a clean record. ballisticpb who is your insurance threw, 125 a year sounds nice.

i was told that since i race, no one would insure my quad. so tell them you race and cant get it insured, then you dont have to spend the money for insurance that you probably wouldnt need anyway

Did they say you need to get comprehensive coverage or only liability?

I've looked into this. Unless you're premiums are around $1000 per year, you're not going to recieve a check for $11,000 if your ATV is totalled or stolen. The insurance company will pro-rate the reimbursement value of your ATV just like they would on an $11000 automobile. I've asked an insurance company how the replacement value is calculated, but I didn't get an answer. They also became suspicious that I was looking to comit insurance fraud.

I pay around $300 a year for insurance on my YFZ . It's the best thing you can do . If it wouldn't have been for insurance , I'd be stuck with a HUGE medical bill and a years worth of lost wages ... but because of insurance I don't owe a cent and get paid my wages . Just think ... it's worth the money in case your quad gets stolen , if theres a fire , if you're injured in an accident , if you injure someone else in an accident . I'd rather pay $300 instead of dishing out $100 000 in medical expenses .

All the ATV insurance I'm aware of doesn't include personal injury protection for yourself. It only covers liability (when you injure someone else or damage their property) and comprehensive (theft, fire). I'm also pretty sure it doesn't cover lost wages.
