i would rather have a 426 over a 440. more reliable and a nicely built 426 will walk all over a 440.

I have heard a nicely built 426 will beat a 440!

Hey guys, Sorry to burst your bubble but adding any cc's wont add and kind of speed to beat anything else. All it will do is give you more torque throug out your gears. Speed to win a race is all about gearing. On a 440 you can add alot higher gears and it will still have the torque in first that your used to. I hope this helps. I went with a 406 kit. So far I'm happy with it.

Where did you get the 406 kit? What all does it come with?

I am wanting to give my wife just a little more power and was think of a 406/416/426 kit.

426 is definatly better.

Umm...4everhonda....your saying a 426 only gives me the ability to change the gears to make it faster?

I paritally agree with you, the more power you add to the motor, you are able to change the gearing to make it faster....but..tell me this.

You take a nicely built 426 vs a stock 400 and drag race em..no gearing changes or anything...and your telling me the 426 WOULD NOT have the advantage?

i was wonderring what they yall mean when they stroke it out to a 440 from a 426

a 426 will rev quicker than a 440. it has a lighter smaller piston. less rotating mass mean faster revs. 426 all the way.

Ive have both and both are AWESOME!!And I keep my 426 for a back but -JUST IN CASE. ;)

BUT.... I have to dissagree, a "WEll" built 440 has more poop to it . I have not have one single problem with my Duncan kit and am VERY pleased. One thing I didi have moer of with my 426 is it would overheat a bit ,especially when riding sand, there fore you lose power. I cant believe how much cooler my 440 runs . I rode a 416 two years ago, I persoanlly didint notice a whole lot , it diid have more torque but didnt have the BITE I wanted .Either kit is a great upgrade, but IMO the 440 is better.

I would like to do a 465 stroker on it next winter...

add a Carb and you will see a difference as well. ;) I know alot of peeps have problems with blowing head gaskets, but I have not had one single problem with them on my Duncan kit and Ive had it since this winter and have done alot of riding/racing since then, the kit was a spedny kit, but I reccomend it HIGHLY.

do you have any pics of your bike? im curious as to what that cylinder looks like.

anyways imho there is no replacement for displacement. comparing a "well built" 426 to an ok built 440 is hardly a fair comparison.
