i am fixing to buy a works connection clutch lever that has the hot start on it and i think i remember someone mentioning in a post on here that you must use a baldwin cable that is modified to fit....why exactly wont the stock cable work?
thanks .....

because i think its to long and has the wrong kind of connector on the end. I bought the works connectiong lever w/ hotstart and somebody told me that the crf hotstart cable would work but didnt, so yes you need the baldwin cable, just call up and say you need one for a stock carb and it will be at your door in 2 or 3 days. works great.

I used my stock cable, you just have to make a spacer for it and it'll work just fine.

can you post a picture?
i found that the protective sleeve (stock hot start cable) needs to be pulled back a bit and it will semi work, but still working on something to keep it tight.
